Kamloops sits on the confluence of the South and North Thompson rivers amidst sandstone canyons, grasslands, mountains and forests. The community has many opportunities for outdoor activities but is particularly proud of its world class Tournament Capital Centre that houses a gymnastic centre and an Olympic length pool.  The centre also boasts a FIFA-certified outdoor soccer field. As well as having a vibrant platform for the arts, local First Nation culture is well represented at cultural sites throughout the city.
