It is true that the BeadTrails Experience began by creating a unique trail from winery to winery in Summerland, but it quickly expanded to include businesses, artists and organizations. Now, eight years later wineries, cideries and distilleries make up around a third of the BeadTrails, which means that there are over a hundred other opportunities to explore and collect our bead charms!
In the Vernon area alone family activities include the Allan Brooks Nature Centre, Mackie Lake House and the Historic O'Keefe Ranch.
At Allan Brooks you are invited to enjoy nature and learn about conservation. You can get close to raptors and reptiles, take part in a family safari, or camp out for the night roasting s'mores and singing campfire songs!
Mackie Lake House is a country mansion built in the early 1900's. Capturing the essence of those days, tea is served with fine bone china on the veranda overlooking the serene gardens and lake. You can tour the house and grounds, and relax at a summer concert overlooking the tranquil lake.

Historic O'Keefe Ranch
Visit the Historic O'Keefe Ranch to explore heritage buildings and museum exhibits, including a church and school house. The ranch is also home to a model railway and of course - farm animals! You can view all the businesses and the beads at Beads & Maps
